My first Stephen King novel. After decades of reading, I somehow managed to never read a full-length novel by a guy with 56 novels under his belt. This one was recommended and was a perfect end-of-summer read. No ghoulishness, no ghosts, no horror really to speak of; it was more like politics and time travel. Credit to King that I had a general knowledge of how the book would end before I started it, but it was still a page-turner. Knowing the general outcome didn’t actually make the plot any more predictable.
