How do you know where you should be going? How do you know if you're on the right track?
Famed start-up guru Ben Horowitz says you never know in advance (that's what makes leadership hard, duh).
A champion athlete I asked says you don't know you're a champion until you've won.
Most of our lives we have parents, teachers, or coaches who set out tasks for us and ensure we're never really and truly in over our heads.
What they don't tell you is that, eventually, you will always be in over your head. Except when you're not.
You can't ever predict which it is, so you might as well just get on with things.
(P.S. Happy New Year!)
