Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Yes, it’s a nonprofit. No, it’s not weird.

There's always one ...

People think it’s weird when you start a nonprofit. “There are too many, already!” some say. “Why not get a real job?” others say.

How great would it be if people understood that the nonprofit sector has always existed, and will always exist? It’s not a deviation from “normal”. It’s part of “normal”.

People are always going to organize to address needs or issues. They are often going to do it because they think it’s the right thing to do, regardless of whether or not it’s profitable. And they should not have to wait for government’s permission to serve the community, especially locally.

Nonprofits are a fundamental part of an efficient, accountable, high-functioning society. The possess perspective, information, insight, networks, and service capabilities unique to the volunteer sector.

Let’s not act like they’re the kids at a grown-up's party.

Those who “do” less, raise more money (Another thing I wish you knew about charities)

In defence of failure (why there is no ‘right’ number of nonprofits)
